polypeptide construction complete the following paragraph to describe how polypeptides are constructed from amino acids

Solutions

Expert Solution

Polypeptides help make up proteins by bonding numerous amino acids together. Proteins are created by the bonding of two or more polypeptides, which are then folded into a specific shape for a particular protein.
First, two amino acids are brought together. The acid group of the first is close to the amine group of the second.
step 1- First, two amino acids are brought together. The acid group of the first is close to the amine group of the second.
step 2- Next, a water molecule is eliminated, leaving a bond between the acid carbon of the first amino acid and the amine nitrogen of the second.
Step 3- The peptide bond is left between the two amino acids.

Common proteins are polymers of 20 different amino acids. How many amino acids are necessary for a protein polymer to have at least as many possible different sequences as there are atoms in the Universe? (There are about 2 × 1056 moles of atoms in the Universe.) *Note - The answer is a mathmatical answer. I need an explanation of the math behind this problem.
