Meosis is a part of cell cycle and produces the gamets either male or female.
Translocation occur when a part of chromosome and joins with the wrong chromosome.
During prophase 1 the attachment of chromose occurs. After prophase the cell under goes the next phase known as Anaphase 1. During anaphase 1 the chromosome cannot be separated form there sister chromatid.
When this gamet fuse with a normal gamet there will be a extra chromosome causing the down syndrome.
So in ANAPHASE I translocation occur to creat the down syndrom.
