How did the Articles of Confederations pave the way for the Constitution?

Solutions

Expert Solution

An Article of Confederation is the initial blueprint of America which was in force from 1781 until 1789. "The main purpose of the 1787 Constitution was to overcome the Confederation's shortcomings. Historian George William Van Cleve wrote in his book "We Have Not a Government: The Articles of Confederation and the Road to the Constitution,"

The Articles of Confederation introduced from wartime necessity. In June 1776, when Thomas Jefferson was authorized by the delegates of Continental Congress and they draft the Declaration of Independence, they realized that they had to replace some old British rule with some sort of national government. They also set up a committee to create a framework document. The purpose behind that was to break an oppressive royal regime, even many weren't too keen on replacing it with a powerful central government. They also set up a committee to create a framework document. So in this way an Articles of Confederation made framework for the U.S. Constitution.
