Living will and durable medical power of attorney are types of advanced directives.
Advanced directives means it is the specefic instruction about the future medical care you want, or donot want, if you become unable to make decisions for yourself.
A durable medical power of attorney names one or more people to
make decision for you if you become mentally incapacitated.
A medical power of attorney ensured you can provide instructions on
the personal health care decisions. The document empowers a person
of your choice to speak with members of your team, obtain second
opinions, sign consents, and make decisions that you are unable to do
so.this advance directive also may authorize a loved one to direct
doctors to give or withhold life sustaining treatment if were you
determined to br near death or permanently unconscious.
A living will provides instructions to your medical team if you have not named an individual to make decisions for you, or there are no individuals available to carry out your needs.A living will is also known as a health care or instruction directive. It is separate from the will that determines the inheritance of your assets.
