Memory is referred to as a form of
mental function, that would be enabling them to retain as well as
acquire along with recalling sensations. Impressions, thoughts as
well as information that a person would have experienced.
People regard memory as only being
long term or short term, though, memory can actually be of
different types. The four types of memories are as follows:
- Episodic memory: this is the me,roy
that people have about the autobiographical events, which are in
the form of places, times being associated with different emotions
and being conjured in an explicit manner.
- Semantic Memory this forms another
part of declarative memory in which there would be references to
the memories that include general knowledge. This would be
accumulated over a period of time.
- Working memory: this forms a part
of short term memory in which there would be immediate conscious as
well as perceptual processing. Also, there occurs involvement of
linguistic stimuli.
- Procedural memory: this forms a
part of long term memory which would be teaching the manner in
which things required to be done with the help of motor skill
development. These include talking, walking bike riding etc.
