Expert Solution

i. From the experience, we can say followings things for the task to apply for jobs:-

1. First to decide the kind of job you want:- Examine what all are your needs & desires for employment, the best job would be the one which matches with your strength, passion, purpose & your personality type. Consider a few things as follows:-

a. Choose a career field as it is very important to find a work that is both challenging & rewarding for you. Also, you must know what you don't want to do.

b. Take into consideration the skills required to apply for the job you want.

c. Take into consideration your financial needs & salary requirements.

2. Second is to do a bit research before sending your resumes to a particular company:-

a. You must know company's type in which you want to have a job and you can know it by reading company's visions & mission statements.

b. Also you must read new products or services which the company is planning to launch in which you may find the news section of the company.

c. You must review the jobs or career section of the company website for an insight into job openings. This will enable you to know about other jobs in different departments of the company.

3. Write a resume:- Having an up to date resume is a very important thing to apply for a job:-

a. Resume outlines your educational qualification,

b. Work History or work experience.

c. Specific projects on which you have worked on won rewards.

d. Your current contact details & your relevant skills & hobbies etc.

4. Write a cover letter, if needed:- This should be specific to the company as well as your job. This demonstrates that you took time in researching about the company before sending a resume and is not simply mass emailing your resume to all the employees. This shows your interest & seriousness to get a job in that particular company.

5. You must get a Second opinion about your resume and cover letter from your family or friends to check any typo error. If possible get an opinion from ht person working in the same field for which you are applying.

6. Locate References:- It is recommended that you secure at least three references and at least two of these people whom you have worked with and who can speak for your performance of work.

7. Apply for job:- After fulfilling all the above steps you can apply for the job by sending your resume & cover letter in three different ways:-

a. In-person, b. Online, c. E-mail.

8. Follow up:- Checking on the status of your application shows your interest in the job & your seriousness towards landing in the company. You must ensure that your application has reached out to the appropriate person.

ii. In order to get a job offer after you have applied for you must take care of the following things:-

a. Make sure your online presence is clear:- Employers & recruiters often check online about you just as your social media accounts & any negativity found they're against you can put you back in the line of getting the job.

b. When you get an interview call, be sure to dress properly:- Clothes that make you feel good & confident can influence the way you carry yourself in an interview.

c. Be on time for the interview:- You must plan to arrive at the location of interview at least 10-15 minutes earlier. This will give you a few minutes to compose yourself & also to review the notes you have bought with you.

d. Show interest & Enthusiasm at a job interview:- Be positive & speak about the job in a knowledgable way.

e. Follow up with a thank-you note after the interview gets over to the employer for their time & consideration, demonstrate good manners and leave a last impression.

(iii) Things not to be done when applying for a job:-

a. Don't have a boring resume:- Your resume should be short but make sure it is engaging.

b. Don't be a shotgun candidate:- Don't apply to several roles in the company in the hope that something sticks. Use your time & energy to be strategic & thoughtful with each application as filling out more applications does not always increase your chance of landing into a job unless you are applying to the right job.

c. Don't limit urself:- It's okay if you have applied for a position for which you don't meet all the listed qualifications. but make sure you explain yourself. If you have a non-traditional background for a role, you can use a cover letter.

d. Don't follow up Too Often:- of course it is true that following up shows your interest in the job but make sure to allow reasonable amount of time between follow-ups. give the company time to get back to you & make decisions.

e. Don't be sneaky. If you have received an email explaining that the role is not the right fit for you, please don't go to another person in the organization trying to get different answers. The recruiter is your point of contact and going around or above them is a big no.
