The impact of being an ethnic or racial minority in US and its
impact when compared to White Americans individuals is as
follows:
1. Security - The most serious impact with the racial and ethnic minority in US is in terms of security and we have time and again see the killings that occur due to hate and the minorities being persecuted by the White Americans due to hate crimes and this seriously affects the safety and security of the minorities and their lives are at stake and this negatively affects them in terms of mentality and creates an environment of fear and panic to live in the country which in turn affects the human rights and country's reputation of law and justice
2. Employment opportunities - The minorities such as American Asian
and African Americans have a hard working and education in higher
numbers which improves their employment opportunities. This
translates into good jobs which leads to their position raising and
when it compares to the majority White Americans, although have
higher numbers but minority success is targeted and highlighted in
a negative way as jobs taken from White Americans which polarizes
the community and society of the country which translates into less
job opportunities
3. Freedom of religion - White Americans often seen to have an
intolerant attitudes towards other ethnic minorities and religions
and it impacts their religion and freedom to practice their faith.
This leads to fundamental clashes and hared towards the other
religion and has negative impact on their respect and cultural
acceptance.
4. Societal discrimination - The American society is dominantly
white and this white dominated society often leads to
discrimination towards the minority of the society in terms of
local and social representation which affects their voices from
reaching to the top leaders and their grievances remaining unheard
and this reflects as ignorance from the government and leads to
anguish and internal struggle in the society and discrimination
affects their morale and social harmony too
5. Quality of life - The level of respect, equal treatment,
adequate representation and equal opportunity largely contributes
towards the quality of life of the minorities. When the White
Americans population denies or discriminates their the quality of
life is affected and incidences such as hate crimes affects the
quality of life drastically which affects the progress of society.
