McDonald’s is undoubtedly one of the largest food chains across
the world ,serving a countable infinite number of customers on a
daily basis. The company has gained its name as well as fame due to
several reasons. It has maintained its food quality, quick service,
neat and clean ambience, ethics and several other requisite aspects
for maintaining a franchise. McDonalds have achieved its unique
position amidst this competitive market because of several reasons:
Experienced Management, Customer-friendly policy, high-end
operational system, modern infrastructure, information system etc.
all have helped it all along its way since its initiation in the
year 1948 in U.S.A. It was a huge success since its emergence.
Since 1955 it is regarded as “McDonals Corporation” after its
foundation by Ray Kroc. Post 1967 it extended its wings across the
world. McDonald Corporation’s Annual Report of 2008 claims the
corporation as an operative one with 3200 restaurants across 117
countries. Not only in food service retaining but it may provide
huge range of opportunities for quite a large number of people
worldwide. Being a large company its shareholders are also gainful
to it, the reason is simple: it yields huge returns for the
shareholders. However one can criticize McDonald’s for its junk
food and high turnover rates.
However this was a back-story as well as a brief introduction
regarding McDonald's business. Now the main answer should focus on
the analysis .McDonald’s is no doubt a global icon in the fast food
market and is fast becoming very popular in markets of India and
China and Brazil.
Based
on the above information one thing can be easily concluded that
McDonald's is currently experiencing a setback from both political
as well as social spheres. People has become more conscious about
the risk of obesity and have realized the aftereffect of
environmental degradation . So the company is continuing its
process of tapping developing economies and emerging economies, on
the other hand it is frequently changing its policies in North
America and Europe without altering the basic framework there. So
it can be said that the company has gained quite a lot of
experience regarding the manipulations of market activities in
order to sustain amidst the changing external conditions.
