Computer Frauds are multiplying with widespread use of technology and access to various information which can be misused. However, the use of computers enable us to automate monotonous business processes to save time and expand the business operations. Thus, appropriate control techniques are necessary to evolve a computer friendly business environment within an organization.

The control techniques that can be implemented to detect and solve computer frauds are as:

1. Information Technology Policies: An organization must develop various Information Technology policies and procedures which will guide the personnels on reasonable practices to be followed with the use of such computers and adhere to such policies and procedures respectively.

2. Secure purchases of software and hardware: Don’t buy anything online with a credit card unless the website is secured with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). Even purchases of hardware must commensurate with the size and scale of business operations for effective use of the same.

3. Anti-malware software: Good anti-malware software can detect suspicious emails and websites.

4. Software updates: Software updates help to fix issues on a regular basis that can detect malicious activities. These updates enable to detect and identify loopholes that hackers exploit.

5. Decentralization Methodology: It is a control mechanism to detect frauds within an organization.
