Solutions

Expert Solution

ANSWER IS OPTION E. BOTH C & D ARE CORRECT.

Medicare does not cover care in assisted living facilities and continuing care retirement community .(CCRC)

Medicare typically only covers a short term stay in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation community while an older adult is recovering from an illness or injury. It can also cover home rehab care performed by a home health nurse or therapist. It does not cover non-medical care services such as assisted living.Medicare usually does not cover long-term nursing care,it does cover services that a CCRC resident might receive like physician visits and hospital stays.

OTHER OPTIONS

a. Medicare part A and Medicare part B cover eligible home health services like physical therapy, occupational therapy etc.

b. Medicare part A covers care in a skilled nursing facility for upto 100 days during each spell of illness. If coverage criteria are met , the patient is entitled to full payment for the first 20 days of care.
