Describe the different levels that ecology can be studied.
List and discuss the different abiotic factors that affect the ecosystem.
Describe the process where energy flows through an ecosystem, provide examples.
What is biomass?
Ans. Different levels in ecology are as following-
1. Organism - smallest unit of ecology.
2. Population - A number of individuals of same species is known as population.
Community - A community is referred as populations of different species.
Ecosystem - Ecosystem is a biological commumity in which organisms interact with their environment.
Landscape - landscape contains more than one ecosystems.
Biome - its same as ecosystem but large in size.
Biosphere- its is considered as global ecosystem.
Ans. Abiotic factore are following:-
1. Soil- soil is an important abiotic factor. Fertility of soil decidesthe plantation in that area.
2. Water or rainfall - water or rainfall is significant abiotic feature.
3. Temperature - Temprature and humidity decides the type of plantation in various geographical parts.
Sunlight - amount of sunlight in a specific geographical area can bring changes into distribution of plants.
Ans. Food chain is the process by which energy flows in a ecosystem. Primary consumer get energy from producers and sec. Consumer get energy from primary con. And so on.
Ans. Biomass- biomass is the total amount of weight of all the organisms living in a given area or volume.
