What abiotic factors might account for any differences between different types of habitats, such as disturbed and less disturbed hillsides. Please explain with great detail
Ans.Abiotic factors are the non living physical and chemical factors of environment which effects ecosystem. The abiotic factors includes: Tempetature, Light, soil composition, rocks, water, air pollution, humidity ,radiations and wind .
All of these can effect the ability of a species to survive. In each case the impact on Ecosystem depends on the intensity, history ,time, frequency, and size of disturbance. The largest and healthiest population will occur when conditions are within optimal range.for example:Water ,that is an important abiotic factor which can differentiate ecosystems because ,in disturbed areas of hillsides water may be less,so plants may not grow as much as hillside with more water ,that is characteristic of undisturbed areas.let us take another example :Wind, that is also an important abiotic factor.strong wind pull plants and make it more disturbed than the gentle or normal wind of undisturbed areas.like the above discussion in the less disturbed hillside, you would have cooler tempetature, leading to more insects that do not have to worry about drying out, amount of sunlight would be better in disturbed areas.
