Expert Solution

Electronic health records is where the patient details everything including the biodata, prrsenting complaints, past history, history of examination, lab reports, scan reports etc is maintained and stored digitally. The biggest advantage of this is that it will be able for a doctor far away to see the reports and help in treatment of a patient in some other part of the world. Also files do not have to be send to different doctors in the hospital as they would get the patient report just by a click in there computers. It can help in getting suggetion from different doctors. Also because of being digitalised and not in papers it does not occupy space and can be stored in hard disks, so storage and maintanance is far easy. Also checking medical record of patient who was consulted years ago, will also be easy as you will not have to go through a lot of old files and could be easily found when digitalized.

As everygood thing has a bad sidr too, EHR also has its disadvantage, it needs training how to use the system and may be difficult at first. The medical proffessional would initially find it difficult to understant how to use EHR. It may also be time consuming to completely digitalise the whole files and consume more man power. It might also be expensive
