When individuals are diagnosed with anxiety disorder or depression the doctor may prescribe them with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor . Commonly used SSRIs are Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft ( Sertraline). It is safe to use in most of the people but produce certain risk when taken along supplements or vitamins .

When Sertraline is taken along with supplement following risk can occur.

1)St. Johns Wort: It is herbal remedy used to mental health problems.when it is taken along with Sertraline can cause fever, diarrhea, chills, and even seizures. So it should be avoided.

2) Valerian: most commonly used for anxiety and psychological stress.when it is taken with Sertraline cause drowsiness making it very hard to wake-up.

3) Multivitamin - normal dose can be taken .But too much of multivitamin are not recommended.

4) B Vitamins: Vitamins can be used along with Sertraline only under the prescription of doctor.

5) Green Tea: It may increase the risk of bleeding .so it should be avoided.

6) cannabis sativa -It causes symptoms like confusion, panic, nervousness and anxiety when taken along with Sertraline.
