What issues will you consider in assessing the external environment of a home and community care-based health care system?
The issues to consider in assessing the external environment of a home for health care are -
The home should compensate for limitations in functional abilities to enable individuals to carry out basic activities associated with daily living safely and independently,participate in social roles,and receive personal assistance from care givers as needed .
The home should be designed to support the prosthetic and therapeutic needs of the patient . It should be designed as such to be safe from potential hazards of accidents ,and should permit safe and independent functioning in daily activities.
The issues to consider in assessing the external environment of community based health care are -
about the water supply( water quality ,quantity ,and access ) ,excreta disposal ,drainage ,health -care waste management,cleaning and laundry ,food storage and preparation ,control of vector borne disease ,building design (including ventilation),construction and management and hygiene promotion.
