What does it mean that DNA is an antiparallel dimer?
Question
The DNA is antiparallel dimer. It consist of two words: antiparallel and dimer. The word dimer means DNA have two strand of nucleotides that are held together by hydrogen bond.
The word "antiparallel" in DNA means that two strand of DNA run in parallel direction but with opposite direction. One strand run in 5'->3' direction and other strand run in 3'->5' direction.
