1. The nurse managed stroke prevention clinic is an outpatient clinic for individuals who have had signs and symtoms of a recent stroke or transient ischemia attack. In this clinic, the patient need a referral by an emergency room doctor,or family doctor , or another medical/nursing specialist. The stroke prevention clinic provides early assessments and appropriate interventions,rapid access to diagnostic tests; education to patients and family members about the risk factors that can cause TIA/Stroke,and assists in development of prevention strategies.

At the clinic the patient will meet with a nurse clinicianand a doctor who specilaize in TIA/stroke prevention and care. The patient will be referred to other health care professionals as needed and may have additional testing ordered by the doctor.

2. Afriacan americans have almost two times the risk of white people of having a first stroke. hispanic americans and American Indian / Alaska natives are at greater risk than  whites are for having a stroke but are at less risk than African Americans. African American and hispanics are more likely than whites to die after stroke

Age- Stroke increases with age. Three -quarters of strokes occur in peopl ages 65 and older.

Geography- The highest U.S death rates from stroke occur in the southeastern united states

Gender- Men are more likely than women to have a stroke.

So that these population would focus on in stroke prevention care. And other lifestyle factors also including the prvention of stroke care .High blood pressure ,high cholestrol ,heart disease patients ,smokers are included in stroke prevention clinic. Other factors for consideration are physical inactivity,overweight or obesity, alcohol intake , family history of stroke drug abuse and certain medications such as hormonal birth control pill etc.
