In the lightning process naturally, a huge amount of light and sound is created by the atmosphere, so it is more interesting how it generating, so I selected to find the solution on this.

There more number of lighting process are available those are

  1. Cloud-to-Ground Lightning - Negative charge movement
  2. Cloud-to-Ground Lightning – Positive charge movement
  3. Ground-to-Cloud Lightning- negative/ positive charge movement
  4. Intracloud Lightning: charges will move between the cloud to cloud, etc. in those type most common lighting is cloud-to-ground lighting.

Answer :

Lightning is naturally happening electrostatic discharge. The movement of charges at clouds rapid to ground will generates lighting as well as sound. Generally when the rain droplets are coming from the clouds they will creates frictional forces with the atmospheric molecules, hence charge separation will happen between atmospheric molecules and rain water molecules which are coming to ground due to this positive/negative charges will accumulate in the atmosphere when this process is continuing more number of positive/negative charges will accumulate in the sky. As we know that earth is a pool of negative/positive charges. According to the electrostatic force between the two opposite charges will attract to each other this attraction forces directly depends on quantity of the charges so if more charges are separated this value will become more. When sufficient of attraction force is creates this charges can move suddenly, at this movement they creates light as well as sound so it is named as lightning. The average energy of one lighting is one billon joule (1,000,000,000 joules energy )

Answer :

A worldwide research is going on to harness the power of lightning for utilize this energy for human life. But due to lack of knowledge on how to store this huge amount charge in faction of second and there is no such a huge battery was made to store this one billon (1,000,000,000) joules energy ( average energy of one lighting ) very small interval time. Hence we are unable to harness the lightning power in present generation we hope the upcoming generation by be store this and can utilize this.
