you are a nurse practitioner working in a clinic that is situated in an area known to have a rapidly growing LGBTQ community. You realize you need to study the particular needs of this population so you can provide culturally competent care.
Sexual orientation refers to an individual's wish to be in an intimate relationship with the same or opposite gender or with both.
Gender identity refers to an individual's view about self or others simply portraying whether they are male,female or transgender. They try to expresses it physically.
Lesbian refers to a relationship between two women
This population refers to a relationship between two men
Bisexual refers to having a relationship with both gender namely male and female
Transgender are people who differ from their birth gender .For instance if an individual by birth is a male but as they grow they have the internal feeling and changes to be a women and vice versa.
Queer are group of people who are in minority

The difficulty which can be faced during sexual healthcare are hesitancy to come out with their problems to disclose,feeling depressed ,feeling that they will be subjected for criticism, being risk for mocking.
A nurse practitioner can provide a welcoming environment by simply following the effective communication tool by actively listening and providing a solution to them.Provide them a positive energy to build their self confidence.
