When you calculate C1V1 = C2V2, what does it mean if your V2 volume is less than your V1 volume?
In this formula C1V1=C2V2 ,
C1 = Initial concentration
V1 = Initial volume
C2 = Final concentration
V2 = Final volume
If the V2 ( Final volume) is less than V1(Initial volume) it indicates that the final concentration of the solution increases to balance the formula as the total final volume decreases. For example:
C1= 5 and V1 = 10
If V2 is 8 then
C2 = 5×10/8 = 6.22 means the concentration increases.
