When literature sources mention materials by their crystallographic orientation, what does that actually mean? For instance: “the device was fabricated using a (100) Si wafer.” Answer by drawing a picture.

Expert Solution

(100) represents the plane in consideration.

The general notation (h,k,l) are the Miller indices of the plane where 1/h, 1/k and 1/l are the points on the plane where the plane intersects x,y and z axes respectively.

here, h = 1, k = l =0

so, the plane will intersect at x = 1/1 = 1 unit and y = z = infinity

therefore, the given plane will be parallel to yz plane at it intersects at x = 1.

To draw this, simply draw a plane parallel to yz plane at x=1.

People are mixed up on the first day of orientation, when they should actually be seated according to their roll number. But they can only move to an empty seat either to their left, right, front or back. If given a starting configuration, will we manage to get everyone seated roll number wise(iterated with rows given a higher priority over columns)? For simplicity, the empty seat is always the (n,n)th element of a nxn matrix. The final configuration should also...
