what does differentiation mean in mitosis?
Mitosis is a type of cell division which occurs in eukaryotic cells. It generates new body cells (somatocytes) for growth, renewal and repair. In the developing embryo new cells are produced by mitosis. These cells then differentiate i.e. transform into the different types of the cells of the body i.e. liver, muscle, .brain etc and perform the different functions due to differential expression of genes in the cell.
