There are different perspectives on human population growth and the dynamics associated with population change. Go to CIA World Factbook website and one developing country and compare the following and answer the questions:
Example of a developed country: China
Example of a developing country: Sudan
Please help me answer the following questions with the information I have provided above.
1. Why do you think the population is increasing or decreasing for that country? Try to explain at least two reasons as to why this is happening?
2. How do diseases affect the population? Can you think about any diseases that have affected the human population? (Please use peer reviewed sources to support your answer).
3. Looking at the countries you compared, what are the toxins present in the environment that impact human health? Provide one example for each country.
1. China: Population is decreasing (due to birth control)
Sudan : Population is increasing
The major factors affecting population are birth, death and migration. Birth increases the population while death decreases the population. Migration also causes population change. Internal migration does not make any changes but international migration makes the differences in the size of population.
2. Disease may cause economic loss in feedlots through mortality, treatment cost, or effects on productivity. The impact of clinical and subclinical disease on production efficiency and economic returns may be greater than the losses associated with mortality.A wide spread disease outbreak like plague, covid 19, SARS etc have taken a toll on human life. We have lost a huge proportion of our population through such communicable diseases.
3. Many of them are known to: cause cancer (radon, formaldehyde, benzene); act as endocrine disruptors (BPA, pesticides, phthalates); and. cause organ failure or developmental problems (lead, mercury, cadmium)
