What is MRSA? Who is susceptible? How long does it last for and how does it spread? How is transmission prevented?
MRSA is the methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus infection. Immune compromised patients, persons that maintain poor hygiene, those frequently expose to contaminated areas are at high risk of developing MRSAs. The infection must be treated by a combination therapy. The infection can lasts for weeks to years in healthy people, the infection may go with treatment but reinfection is common as it is a resistant strain. The transmission can be prevented by maintaining good hygiene and avoiding contact with the infected skin surfaces.
