The impact of COVID-19 in the United States has the far reaching impacts at multiple fronts such as social, economic, health and other sectors adversely. The overall impact can be assessed by the daily rising numbers well beyond the global average when compared to the US.
In terms of health, the COVIS-19 pandemic has affected all the sections of the society and individuals of all the regions alike in a seriously life-threatening manner. The rampant co-morbidities that has plagued the US population and the respiratory illness among the population has not only compounded the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in US but put forth a grim scenario where the health maintenance has become priority to see a new tomorrow. Health in the current state has become a commodity of great importance in protecting the well being of individual and the family in association.
Impact of COVID-19 on healthcare delivery has been the worst in terms of service delivery and treatment terms. The healthcare infrastructure in the US was not ready for such a huge influx of the population to be treated for this pandemic. In terms of healthcare delivery the unavailability of adequate infrastructure, lack of manpower, inadequate healthcare professionals has adversely impacted the treatment delivery of the pandemic affected US population. The healthcare delivery has also affected by the ineffective containment and treatment options available and thus has accumulated the burden of healthcare delivery for a longer period in the United states
Other healthcare services such as laboratories, patient care facilities, etc has also been seriously impacted due to huge stress on the infrastructure and simultaneous job cuts and rising unemployment which has made the healthcare services to be inadequate delivered for patient care. The pandemic has also halted the service sector especially healthcare as the training, education and financial resources to provide the healthcare services has been immensely restricted leading to collapse of the services.
