What does it mean when one says that the production of cDNA is an exception to the central dogma of molecular biology?
Answer: In central dogma the information moves from DNA to mRNA and then to protiens. But the cDNA is exception to central dogma. cDNA means complementary DNA. Complementary DNA is synthesised from RNA with the help of enzyme reverse transcriptase. So in the production of cRNA the information moves from RNA to DNA which is reverse in comparison to central dogma. That is why it is an exception to central dogma.
* DNA --------> mRNA ----------> protiens ( central dogma).
* RNA ---------------> DNA ( enzyme reverse transcriptase) { exception to central dogma}.
