significance of low albumin, hemoglobin, and sodium level for liver disease?
ANSWER:- 1.Low Albumin:- Albumin is very essential protein in human body. When ALbumin is low in our body, you may have swelling all over the body or in any part of the body and a prson can experiance muscle weakness, cramps or fatigue and may have poor appetite. it is often seen in elderly people. Severe diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, constipation, confusion, muscle weakness, shortness of breath, rapid heart beats are the symptoms of hypoalbuminemia. People with severe Liver Cirrhosis commonly have low albumin level because of low synthesis of heptocytes and water and sodium retension which helps in diluting the albumin contents in the extracellular space.
Low Hemoglobin :- If a person is suffering from chronic liver desease, then they can have multiple hematological problems or abnormlities like Iron deficiency anemia. The liver perorms an importnt role in iron haemostasis and it is the major organ for the production of Hepcidin ,an iron regulatory hormone, blocking the absorption of iron from enterocytes ( intestinal absorptive cells). there will be acute or chronic blood loss into the gastrointestinal tract causing iron deficiency anemia.
Low Sodium:- Sodium is also an essential mineral in the human body..Sodium ions help to maintain water movement within the body and mediate nerve impulses. Low sodium level causes many complications in patients with liver disease such as severe ascites, hepatic encephalopathy, infections, renal impairements, cirrhosis and so on. It reduces the quality of life specially in patients with cirrhosis and ascites.
