failure to thrive is a weight of the children or rate of weight
gain lower than other children of same age and gender. failure to
thrive are weight, height of the child falls below the 10th
percentile. Failure of thriving criteria includes weight loss that
crossing more than one channel of growth(percentile) in body weight
is evidence for failure to thrive. it is important to understand
the parents perceptive about child growth and health. health
education to parents improves awareness about their feeding
practice. caregivers negligence, inappropriately seeking affection
from strangers, delay in milestones like crawling, rolling over and
talking, poor hygiene, diaper rash, impetigo as a various clinical
features show psychological deprivation that causes failure to
thrive.
