Type II
Diabetes mellitus:
It is a common disorder that causes the blood glucose levels to
become too high.In this type there is insulin resistance in which
the target tissues such as liver,adipose tissue and skeletal
muscles are not utilizing insulin properly.
Causes:
- insulin resistance or when pancreas is not able to produce the
needed insulin and as a result glucose production is increased
- genetic and environmenal factors such as overweight and being
inactive
Risk factors:

- Age,gestational diabetes mellitus,polycystic ovarian
disease
Possible consequences:
- Heart and blood vessel disease like atherosclerosis,stroke,high
blood pressure

nephropathy

- Bacterial and fungal infections
