Genetic editing is the process where scientist are permitted to alter the DNA of different organism such as plants, animals and human beings.
Potential ethical issues in gene editing in the near future are
1. Correction of specific genetic diseases.
There are number of diseases that are caused by the mutation of genes. Scientist working on it will be able to remove these mutated genes causing disease and possibly will result in disease free individual.
2. Inequality on the basis of wealth.
Since the cost for gene editing therapy is too much it goes well in the hands of rich thus causing disparities in the society.
3. Safety in the process of gene editing is the primary concern.
4. Informed consent researchers worry about the informed consent being received by patients as they are reluctant to make decisions over the future generations.
5. Religious obligations many religions does have obligations to use embryos for research purposes.
So these are some potential ethical consideration that may come out in near future.
