The Corona virus , has taken the world by storm , and has infected mullions of people . This has raised many ethical issues and concerns.
1. Balancing care quality and efficiency-
In COVID -19 Health care providers have multiple duties such as duty to care , as well as duty to protect themselves from getting infected and remain active throughout the period of pandemic. Due to which these professionals have to suffer isolation , seperation from family ,. long duty hours etc. which causes distress and impact the care that they provide.it becomes difficult to balance quality with efficiency.
2. Allocating limited medications and resources - One of the concerns is allocating the limited resources like ICU beds and number of hospitals , doctors , nurses etc. to take care of patients infected and another concern is whether to accept patients from a distant region which may possibly aggregate therisk of a increased epidemic wave in their own area. Thus raises the ethical dilemma for the government , state and also raises the issue of underpreparedness of most Health system in the world in the face of COVID -19
3.Moral Distress and addressing end of life issues-
. COVID -19 raises the macro issues like lockdown , quarantine ,travel bans and other measures , which causes physical stress , for people in country.
