This involve entry of the agent into a susceptible host.
Mode of transmission
It can be through droplet, fecal-oral route, sexual or oral route.
Portal of exit
It can be through saliva, mucous membranes, feces, blood, or discharges from the nose.
The new host
This step consists of entering into a new host and repeating the cycle of infection.
