Expert Solution

Quick strategy:

a. Interrupt the colleague talking about himself by letting him know that his ideas are very good , informative and would need some time to understand for all of us in the meeting.

b. Inform the colleague that its good to first of all understand the ideas that he has already presented in the last one hour and we would need time to look at pros and cons.

c. In the interest of time, the rest of his ideas can be presented in a different meeting that can be organized after sometime, however its the time now to listen to others as well so that we do not miss out on the agenda that was already formalized and decided to be discussed within the stipulated time.

d. The point 'c' would create a positive impact within the group that shall allow others to present their ideas and also let them know that their views are also important for the company.

e. After the meeting, have coffee with the colleague whom you interrupted, inform that his ideas were very good and impressive, apologize for having interrupted the meeting and speak few more minutes asking about welfare of his family.
