For several decades (since the 1970's), cartoons have had a strong psychological impact on the human mind. Adults who feel they enjoy watching cartoons may actually be putting psychological load on their mind and brain.

Gender disparity is observed in cartoons is a fine example of this stress. Male characters are usually given more prominence, appear more frequently, talk more and are projected as strong and powerful. On the other hand females are projected as needing help and being dependent on male characters. They are seen as sex objects and are not strong and independent. They are to dress skimpy and look good at all times.

This portrayal of stereotypes has a strong impact on the socialization process of humans at work. Men find it hard to deal and accept female mangers/ bosses. Cartoons condition them to think and act differently around women thus creating an unhealthy situation at work.

Examples of cartoons projecting this image of women include- beauty & the beast, the little mermaid and several other more.
