ANTIBIOTICS — Antibiotics are the drugs which are given as a therapy for bacterial infections. They invade the bacterial cell wall and destroy them.

Allergic reactions ----- It is a condition of hypersensitivity response of body(immune system) to a specific group of drug.

​​​​​​BETA- LACTAM group of antibiotics which includes penicillin , cephalosporin, carbapenems has a highest risk of allergic reactions because it is a most widely used antibiotics, highly sensitive, and it's regular use can cause allergic reaction.

Antibiotics are prescribed after sensitivity testing of microorganisms towards the drug.

It's effect is commonly seen in gastrointestinal tract. Rashes, peeling, bruising, itching, porphyria , pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, behavioral changes are some common allergic effects of penicillin. It is a severe life threatening condition of body.
