Examples for the threats or hazards of risks in aged care:
1. Carrying, lifting, supporting patients while moving:
Some of the aged people cannot move on their own. We need to support or lift them while moving from bed to chair or for using washrooms. These manual movements may hazardous for aged people and which may cause musculoskeletal disorders such as sprains and strains to the back and shoulders.
2. Handling and movement of numerous patient related equipment:
Managing equipments wrongly may lead to discomfort to patients while movements and might cause musculoseletal dislocations.
3. Professional ferocity:
Care takers should be kind and helpful to the patients. If they act or treat patients in an inappropriate way (bullying, harrasment, etc.), patients may encounter severe psychological disorders.
