  • Hygienic procedures to control infection.
  • Reporting incidents.
  • Safely perform manual handling of equipments.

B) Following may be the risks for safety during patient direct care:

  • During supporting, lifting & moving of patient. :

During lifting & moving patients injuries often come while shifting patient from chair to bed or vice versa, often musculoskeletal deformities may occur.

  • During moving & manual handling of equipments.
  • Stress related to the work.
  • Bullying & harrasment.

C) Following are the examples of where we can find the threats of risk:

  • Long work hours & Shift work :- The safety of the nurse is influenced by the characteristics of the shift that are ; time of shift, day off pattern, length of the shift, & rest breaks.
