1.Type 1 diabetes is also known as insulin dependent diabetes mellitus or juvenile diabetes.
Insulin is a hormone produced by pancrease which regulates glucose level in the blood.
In this condition, pancrease will not produce insulin. It is an autoimmune disorder where cause is unknown
Type 2 diabetes is also known as non insulin dependent diabetes mellitus.
Most of the cases it is adult onset.
In this condition, pancrease will produce insulin but the cells are unable to absorb it.
2. Symptoms
Type 1:
Increased thirst(polydipsia), increased urination(polyurea), extreme hunger (polyphagia), irritability, fatigue, blurred vision
Type2 :
Polyphagia, polyurea, polydipsia, blurred vision, slow healing sore, tingling sensation of feet, darkened skin colour in peripheries.
3. Hypoglycemia can be manifested in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes
