Obesity is defined as when bodymass index more than 30kg/m2. In United States, the obesity is increasing very much. There is four fold rise in obesity in United States in the past 20-30 years. The main reason for increasing obesity are lack of exercise ,excess sugar consumption, consumption of margarine, junk food usage.

Asian country like India and Arab country like Saudi Arabia, the obesity is increasing. The main reason are the increased unhealthy fat consumption, increased sugar consumption, lack of exercise,altered sleep habit. The lack of exercise and the subsequent obesity contribute to the development of coronary artery disease and increased mortality from it.

Difference between these countries by which comparison can be done are food habits, extent of physical activity, Hereditary factors, racial factors, susceptibility.

Cultural differences also plays an important role. In Unites states, the culture of eating packed, canned food items and consumption of alcohol, smoking habits are contributing factors.

The overall contributing factors for obesity are unhealthy fat consumption ,excessive sugar consumption, lack of physical activity, smoking, alcohol consumption.
