While the flow of information has increased around the world, firms, such as Google and Yahoo!, still must compromise on what information they will provide to their customers if they are to have access to markets such as China’s. Do you think this is an appropriate compromise or not? Please respond in 250 words or more
Solution
Yes,the flow of information has increased across the world.
The Giants like Google and Yahoo still must compromise on what they have to deliver to cutomers only in some markets such as China, etc., These countries are not democratic in nature and hence generally the rules are very strict.
In case of China,it is a pure republic. We should note that the flow of information has increased meaning the people across are demanding new and large amount of information / data to asist them in decison making.Data is the new oil as famously said these days.
So,Chinese people are not indifferent to the people in the remaining par tof the world i.e., they also do not like to have restrictions on the flow of data. But their Government structure is republic in nature (as we all know, in a republic, the country has to follow some pre-set rules / constitution /principles which cannot be changed / modified even if the majority of the people are wishing the same).
So,Any firm (including Google and Yahoo) will have to comply with the government rule to provide only "select" information to their customers in these markets if they want to operate in those markets.
