Academic Integrity is a moral code or ethical policy as per which a scholar or a student is expected to maintain originality and authenticity in his/her writing or work and giving credit to the ideas of other people while using it thus leaving no scope for copying someone's content or allegedly claiming it be his or her own. Academic Integrity stresses on being honest and responsible while sharing work to establish trust among the readers.
I wish to have known about the ill impact that plagiarism (copying others work or ideas and claiming it to be yours or not giving credit to the original writer) puts on the reputation and integrity of a scholar and how much this activity is loathed in academics so that I could stay more wary and alert with not even unintentionally using others ideas or work in the program.
The concept of academic integrity will have a significant impact on my approach to writing assignments in the future as it will help me to keep my work original, authentic and relevant. It will also help me to build trust among the readers so that my work is recognised which will also lead to my academic success.
The most common reasons students plagiarize is that they either do not have their original ideas to write about the topic which makes them find somebody else's or they like the work of others more than theirs snd find it better to showcase it as their own to gain more praises.
The strategies I suggest to use to avoid plagiarism :
Always citing or referencing the name or source from which the ideas are taken. Avoiding copy , paste and quoting the work of others.
Being original by not consulting any source while writing and understanding the context to answer questions by yourself.
Using one or more tools for plagiarism checker.
