Obesity is defined as increased in body weight as compared to the age of the person and it is also defined as the increase in BMI more than. of obese persons in the world. Females are more prone to obesity than males. About 78 million adults and 13 million children are obese in the United States. The most important reason of the obesity in the United States is as follows:-

  • Americans eating fewer fruits, vegetables, grains and nuts and they highly consume fast foods such as meat, hamburgers, french fries, doughnuts that are high in fat and carbohydrates.
  • They have sedentary life style which include No or irregular physical activity, that leads to more fat deposit in the body and causes obesity.
  • Due to many social changes the person usually use cold drinks, soft drinks, watching excess T.V, using telephone, smoking, alcohol are also contributes towards the obesity.
  • Genetic disorders are also responsible for excessive weight gain in the person.
  • The person in United States consumes more fast foods than usual and this imbalance their hormones and thus leads to hormonal and endocrine disorders such as hyper or hypothyroidism which put effect on the weight of person and also leads to obesity.
  • Sitting hourly jobs and busy schedules are also one of the reason of improper workout and obesity.
  • Their is great availability of fast foods in America easily and due to busy lifestyle people usually prefer readymade- foods than cooked by their own which influences their health.
