Solutions

Expert Solution

1. Any push or pull on an object is known as force.

2. Characteristics of force are

  • It can put the motion in an object in rest
  • It can stop a moving object
  • It can change the direction of movement of an object
  • It produces acceleration in anybody.
  • It can change the shape of an object

3. A force system is a collection of forces acting at specified locations (may also include couples). Thus the set of forces shown on any free body diagram makes up a force system. Force system is simply a term used to describe a group of forces

4. Concurrent forces are those forces whose line of action meet at a common point and there is no net effective force acting on the body.

5. When from a system of force all the forces lie in the same plane then the forces are said to be coplanar forces.

6. As I told in 4th part result of concurrent forces is always zero. This means no net force acts on the body.

7. When on a body forces acts on an angle with respect to the horizontal then the force has two components named as horizontal force given by Fh = F cos And Fv = F sin

8. Moment of a force is defined by the rotational equivalent of force means what will be the angular acceleration when the force will be applied on the body.

9. A static equilibrium means the body is at rest and the net external force acting on the body is zero means the net acceleration of the body will be zero.

10. A beam is a structural element that primarily resists loads applied laterally to the beam's axis. Its mode of deflection is primarily by bending. The loads applied to the beam result in reaction forces at the beam's support points.
