Role of Technology in Long-Term Care Using the South University Online Library and the Internet, find three articles describing the role technology will play in addressing the challenges ahead in long-term care. a) Which challenges in long term care system remain unmet? Why?
Growing ageing population, Government polices, service providers, Retailers, Manufacturers, Natural disasters, Nursing homes.
Growing ageing population can never be taken care as it is occuring naturally which cannot be changed whatever the advancement in technology may be. Nursing homes will never be able to meet government policies due to different reasons. Staff shortages will occur due to technological advancements which leads to unemployment.
b) What changes can we expect to occur with the influx of baby bommers entering into long term care system?
Due to long term care system there is requirement for ageing old population as by 2035-2040 there will one third of the world population around 65+ age thus they require this assistance.
c) Why do you think technology is important to long-term care? Support your answer with relevant examples. What are the pros and cons of the implementation of technology in long-term care?
Technology will play a major role in improving health care and long term care system. This leads improvement in the lifes of people.
