μ: mean of House price in Newyork

Test

Null hypothesis H₀: μ = 265
Alternative hypothesis H₁: μ > 265
T-Value P-Value
2.36 0.013

Since p-value is less than alpha 0.05, we reject null hypothesis and there is a significant evidence to conclude that the average cost of a house in New York significantly greater than the US average .

Null hypothesis H₀: μ = 265
Alternative hypothesis H₁: μ > 265
T-Value P-Value
-0.47 0.679

Since p-value 0.679 is greater than alpha 0.05, we fail to reject null hypothesis and there is no significant evidence to conclude that the average cost of a house in New Jersey is significantly greater than the US average .
