5. Identify two major ethical issues that are of special concern in the analysis and reporting of qualitative research. What steps can you take to rectify these problems? How are these ethical issues similar to, or different from, the analysis of quantitative research?
In the healthcare research, qualitative studies are much important to assess the efficacy of a healthcare intervention. As the statistical methods are not used in qualitative research, the researcher must evaluate and interpret the data. In the process of obtaining the replicable and reliable information, several ethical issues must be overcome by the researcher. This include, client’s autonomy, informed consent, confidentiality, etc. To avoid most of the ethical issues, all of the researchers in the study must be informed with the ethical issues and their role in conducting the research. Defining these roles using the particular guidelines and protocols, minimizing the flaws and disparities in obtaining the information is necessary. In contrast to qualitative research, the ethical issues in quantitative research includes, rights of researcher to conduct that particular research and the doses of drugs or the number of individuals recruited for the study, etc.
