Ethics has become a concern for conducting a meaningful research. Each researcher must be responsible for managing research within the rules set forth.First is the consent.it is a proceedure which involves whether a person can choose whether or not to participate in a study. The two forms of consent are direct and substitue.Direct is when the agreement is made directly between the researcher and the subject.Substitue is when a third party gives consent for the individual who is to be engaged in the study. This can only be done if the subject does not have the capacity to give a consent.
Next is capacity when it is the ability to acquire and gain knowledge. The ability to evaluate the information recieved and make a choice based on this evaluation is the important aspect of capacity. The person can be competent or incompetent.Competent is partially determined by legal and ability,Secondly incompetent when a person is considered incompetent if they have been adjudicated in the court as legally incompetent.
Caution should be taken not to exploit the person inolved in research for personal gain,no compulsion using higher authority to particpate in the research, ensure the research techniques do not have negative influences on the subject.Take into consideration ,cultural, religion, and other sensitive factors while conducting research.
The obligation to inform people they are a part of the research is universal in both.Being honest about the research and which organization we belong to and what methods we are using is important in both research methods.Ensure field notes and trascripts do not contain any personal information or data.Design of questionaires to reduce embarrasment and use of neutral language.
