Public health and Health care delivery system:
Public health refers to the health of the population as a whole. It is a branch of medicine, that mainly deals with the aspects epidemiology, hygiene and disease prevention in the community. Where as Health care delivery system refers to the staffing, regulation, provision and quality control of health services provided to the people of the nation. Health care is the Prevention , treatment and management of illness or the preservation of mental and physical wellbeing through services offered by the Medical, nursing and allied health professions.
Public health and the Health care delivery system complement and compete each other. A proper health care delivery system is essential for the improvement of public health, in contrast poor public health cost the health care delivery system much . The country has to spend double amount for the Health care system, if the public health is poor.
The United states' has a mixed health care delivery system as the country has a mix of private and public systems of Healthcare delivery. Most of the hospitals in the nation are owned by private organisations or people. This privatization have a huge influence in the Public health of the country. Government is running few number of hospitals like military hospitals, where the health care delivery is free of cost or reduced cost. Huge privatization has a major advantage on public health , that is the people can get more advanced technologies for patient care as the hospitals are constantly in competition with one another in providing quality care with new technologies.
One of the major disadvantage of this health care delivery system is the healthcare disparities among population. In US most of the uninsured and low income families are getting very less health care services as the private hospitals and the health services are less affordable for this population. This affects public health badly and many vulnerable population like low income families, racial minorities etc are suffering with different types of chronic diseases and not getting adequate treatment. This inturn increases the mortality and morbidity rate of the country and the Nation 's health graff is getting worst day by day. Thus Public health and Health care delivery system complement and compete each other.
2. Influential parties and opinion leaders:
The president of United States, United States Department of Health, Center for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC) , other Federal and state agencies, State Governments, Medicaid and Medicare insurance, Supreme court , community based organisations , Natural association for county and city health officials ( NACCHO) etc are the official parties and influential leaders of public health and Health care delivery system in the country.
3. Consistency and inconsistency of scripture with the system:
According to the Scriptures " Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the affected and needy. Deliver the poor and needy" ( Psalms:82: 3- 4) , Honour widows ...( 1 Timothy 5 :3), we have the command to care for the needy, orphans and widows as well as the poor people.
Consistency: The United States' healthcare system has implemented many health programmes for the care of needy and vulnerable people and many community agencies and non Governmental organisations are working for the same.
In consistency: Still in country many poor people and needy are denied of health insurance due to huge premium ir due to pre existing medical conditions. All around the world many oppressed and poor people are dying due to chronic conditions, poverty and inaccessible health care. The United States healthcare system also have to implement the new strategies for ensuring the universal acess to health services for all the people irrespective of financial or racial status.
