Asseessment of a client with corticottophin therapy with digitalis.

Digitalis is using for the patient with heart disease. It will help to increase the blood flow all over the body and decrease the swelling and fluid retention.

Asseessment

  1. corticotrophin is contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled hypertension and congestive heart failure.
  2. if using corticotrophin, should be used with caution in any degree of hypertension or heart failure.
  3. To be assess hypertension frequently
  4. To be check for water retensikn in the body.
  5. To be check serum pottasium level . chances for lower its level.

6. Administer pottasium if needed.

Assessment of patient who receiving oral glucophages while on corticotrophin therapy.

oral glucophages is using for diabetes patient to control glycemic level.

Assessment.

  1. Should be used with caution in patients with endocrine disorders.
  2. Check glucose level during ang and for a peroid of time after corticotrophin therapy. It may increase the glucose level.
  3. Administer corrective amount of insulin or oal glycemics.
  4. Educate the patient.

In common , both of these patients' who receiving digitalis or oral glucophages should be carefully monitored during and following administration of corticotrophin.
