In the text we see that "reconstruction redrew the boundaries of American freedom." how did these boundaries expand for some citizens but remain closed or restricted for others?

Expert Solution

The reconstruction period has continuously been a real inspirational period as a bunch of administrative problems has raised. The boundaries expanded for black American citizens. Lines of isolation that restricted the rights of citizenship to white humans had continued been fundamental to the discipline of American freedom. Solely in an unmatched pressure could they have been restored, even tentatively, by the idea of a government of peers welcoming black Americans besides white. The United States, “white man’s government” had been a general understanding prior to the Civil War. The abolition of slavery effectively came into force over Reconstruction.

The boundaries remain restricted for Asian settlers by the twentieth century as they could not enhance citizenship, but their domestic-born kids automatically did so. Women’s rights also confronted the limits of Reconstruction involvement to equality and they took it as the time to demand their own liberty.
